A tribute to a true talent

THE life and music of legendary vocalist Eva Cassidy will be recreated on stage at the Lyceum in Crewe.

Over The Rainbow is a compelling musical, which follows Eva's life through dramatic scenes and stunning live renditions of her music including a haunting interpretation of the iconic Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

The show follows her life from the age of ten growing up in a musical family, to her first professional gig at 18 at the Wild West World theme park.

It features her first meeting with boyfriend and mentor Chris Biondo, a rabble-rousing rendition and recording at Blues Alley with Chuck Brown and culminates in Eva's poignant and tragic death from cancer at the age of 33.

A talented cast of actors and musicians, headed by lead singer Julie Forester, recreate the original arrangements, which have received accolades from Mick Fleetwood and Sting and tributes from Nora Jones and Katie Melua.

The show is a genuine tribute to a true artist who only wanted to create beautiful music.
