A MAJOR search is under way to find the winners of more than £275,000 of unclaimed Premium Bond prizes in Cheshire.

The unclaimed prizes range in value from £25 to £1,000, according to National Savings and Investments (NS&I), the Government-backed savings and investments provider.

Cheshire holds 13 per cent of the north west's £2 million unclaimed premium bond prize money - the fourth highest value of unclaimed prizes in the region.

Customers who own premium bonds and think they may have any unclaimed prizes can use the Premium Bond prize checker on the NS&I website, www.nsandi.com, or write to: Premium Bonds, National savings and Investments, Blackpool, FY3 9ZW.
