Carnival spirit breezes into Parr

TOWNSFOLK are expected to flock to the fun of the popular Parr-di-Gras Carnival and Community Games which takes place at Bold Miners Neighbourhood Centre on Saturday, August 20.

More attractions than ever before are on offer at this year's carnival and for the past six months members of the Blackbrook and Parr Carnival Working Group have been putting together the action packed programme which provides something for everyone. Activities will include; live music, entertainment, face painting, morris dancing, fairground attractions, a bouncy castle and numerous stalls. And St Helens Council's Sports Development team have organised a variety of community games including rugby, hockey, rounders and kwik cricket.

The free sports carnival will run from noon until 4pm and working group chair Eddie McConville says he expects it to be the best ever.
