Paracetamol caused death

A FATHER of four who avoided going to the doctors died before he could realise his dream of retiring abroad.

Warehouse operator David Richardson, 59, dreamed of moving to Turkey but died of multi-organ failure after paracetamol slowly and fatally built up in his body.

The inquest heard how Mr Richardson, of Laburnum Grove, Runcorn, rarely saw a doctor and instead took paracetamol for aches and pains.

A toxicologist said that although paracetamol levels in his blood were not at 'usually fatal' levels, they did constitute an overdose.

Deputy coroner Dr Janet Napier recorded a verdict of misadventure.
