Learn to speak with confidence

DO YOU lack confidence when it comes to speaking in public?

A local group could have just the answer.

North Cheshire Speakers Club covers Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn and it helps people overcome their shyness in front of a crowd.

New club chairman Ann Erskine says the club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Daresbury Park Hotel.

Members have included people who want to speak for business presentations to best man speeches.

The club also helps people with a stammer through the McGuire project.

"We are known for being a friendly club," said Ann, from Halton Village in Runcorn.

She added: "I'm hoping to start an evening called 'sell the book', where people prepare a presentation about a book they have read and try to sell it to the club."

The club is on a summer break but the next meeting is on September 13.
