Firefighters tackle grass blazes
VANDALS torched grassland in Hale Village - twice within two hours.
Firefighters blasted reckless children for wasting their time and resources.
"Two crews spent more than five hours dealing with these arson attacks," said a spokesman for Widnes fire station.
"It is malicious ignition and ties up our resources."
The first fire broke out in Ramsbrook Lane at 8.30pm, last Friday. Another blaze followed at 10pm.
