Teachers turn hands to learning to get a-head

NANTWICH teachers became successful pupils when they were awarded a prestigious qualification, which enables them to become headteachers.

Andrew Middleton of Malbank School and Sixth Form College, Andrew Cliffe of Brine Leas High School and Michael Burnitt of Willaston Primary School, were among over 100 teachers from across the north west who gained the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

The graduates were presented with a paperweight and their qualification from the National College for School Leadership in the ceremony at the University of Manchester.

Keith Whitby, centre manager for NPQH North West Region, said: "Your energy and determination in completing this demanding programme have brought you this far and your commitment to helping children get the most from their education will direct your next steps in your career.

"We congratulate your achievement."
