Bus company sends out road safety message

PARENTS are being urged to remind their children to play safely around roads as part of a new scheme by one of the area's bus companies.

Derek Bowes, commercial manager for Arriva North West and Wales, said: "We want to stress to children the importance of keeping safe - and explain why they could be putting themselves in danger by playing on or near the roadway.

"We want children to understand that although it may appear exciting to fool around on or near the road, it is actually incredibly dangerous - both for them and for other people.

"We hope that parents and carers will also want to support us in this aim and will take just a few minutes to talk about keeping safe near roads."
