MP elected to group

HELEN Southworth MP has been elected as secretary for the all party parliamentary group for diabetes.

Mrs Southworth said: "I am delighted to have been elected as an officer of this group, as I have always had a personal and professional interest in this condition.

"With the number of people being diagnosed with diabetes increasing, it is vital that we have a better understanding of its causes, as well as the most effective means of prevention and treatment.

"I am looking forward to helping the group in its work to raise awareness, not just in Parliament, but also in my constituency as well."
