A step back in time...

VISITORS to Warrington town centre enjoyed a step back in time over the weekend for a Medieval spectacular.

To celebrate 750 years of Warrington Market, the town was transformed into a scene from the middle ages with special characters and an encampment.

Events were staged across the town but centred around the market and also the old market place at Golden Square.

There was plenty to enjoy for young and old alike with brass rubbings, storytelling and games as well as a feast of Middle Aged dishes for visitors to try.

And staff from the market also got involved in the historic occasion, dressing in period costume.

Visitors flocked to the variety of stalls and displays that were on show - and there was even an appearance by a group of fearless knights who took part in a tournament on Saturday.
