Space rocket lands at school

YOUNGSTERS were thrilled when the biggest rocket ever to be launched from the UK mainland arrived at a Nantwich school this week.

The Starchaser rocket landed at Malbank School on Monday and Tuesday on its educational tour of the UK.

The 43-feet high rocket, which was successfully launched from Morecambe Bay in 2001, was visited by 200 of the town's primary school children on Tuesday morning, and the Starchaser team conducted a series of presentations throughout its two-day stay.

The rocket was also available for public viewing in the evening.

Lee Wilkinson, the school's assistant headteacher for performing arts, said: "The two days went fantastically well, and everyone, from the parents to the children, was raving about it."
