Runcorn FC Halton 0 Urmston Town West 2

Altrincham U21s League

RUNCORN'S long unbeaten run finally came to an end against league leaders Urmston Town West.

Urmston started very strongly scoring after four minutes and dominated the first half.

At the break they were leading 2-0 and worthy of that lead.

The second half was a very different story with an excellent performance from Runcorn although some poor finishing and some fine goalkeeping meant that the improved performance was not rewarded with a goal.

Man of the match Alex Cunningham led the line well and a special mention for Steve Maloney who stood in for injured goalkeeper Chris McCann and performed well.

Despite this loss Runcorn remain confident that they can turn the tables against Urmston when they meet in the forthcoming divisional cup final.

Team: S Maloney; T Jackson; J Dyer; N Macmillan; J Highton; B McCann; L Watson; D Cummins; J Farrington; M Lewis; A Cunningham; Sub: D McGhee.
