Businesses and traders in Knutsford are being given the chance to be a part of this year's RHS Show.

Volunteers at the East Cheshire Hospice are writing to companies in the town asking them to make a donation to help create a tranquil garden for the event.

The centre that cares for terminally ill patients from across the borough needs £10,000 for the special back-to-back garden.

It will be filled with hundreds of bright yellow roses cultivated at Fryer's in Knutsford.

Designer Clive Mollart is creating the garden for free.

But money is needed to buy a special seat, a stone feature and an unusual sculpture.

After the show at Tatton Park the garden will be dismantled and moved to the Macclesfield-based centre for patients to enjoy.

The people of Knutsford have already raised £20,000 in a year to help reopen a four-bed ward at the hospice.

They are also being asked to make a donation.

To help send cash or a cheque, made payable to East Cheshire Hospice, to Knutsford Guardian, Council Offices, Toft Road, Knutsford, WA16 6TA.
