Schools minister takes a look at town's top class learning facilities

THE Minister of State for school standards, Stephen Twigg MP, was in town on Tuesday to speak to the town's teachers and students.

Mr Twigg visited Cardinal Newman RC High School in Latchford to look at the work being done to make its services accessible to the community outside of school hours and to upgrade its existing facilities.

He also went to Great Sankey High School, one of only a few schools in the country to achieve specialist status in engineering.
