Triton slip back with stalemate

TRITON Hockey Club men's first team slipped back in their promotion chase on Saturday with a disappointing draw.

Their home match against Colwyn Bay ended goalless, leaving Triton four points behind leaders Alderley Edge and three adrift of Wilmslow in second.

They have the chance to making up ground on both sides, who play each other tomorrow.

However they'll need an improved performance in front of goal as they have to travel to Winnington Park, which will not be an easy fixture.

A weakened Triton 2nds lost 6-3 at Llandudno in their worst defeat of the season, the Triton goals coming from Craig Jones, Paul Quartermaine and Rob Moss.

Triton 3rds beat relegation rivals Manchester Trinity 5-1, Simon Cruxton scoring twice.

The other Triton scorers were Cliff Thompson, Scott Elliot and Tim Weighell.

Triton Ladies went down 4-0 at Stone.

The 2nds are at home to Oxton tomorrow, the 3rds are at City of Manchester, and the Ladies are at Walsall.
