Polioe units set up for neighbourhoods

NEIGHBOURHOOD policing units are due to be introduced in Cheshire to help in the fight against crime.

The units will be supported by dedicated Community Action Team officers, working with local people to address crime and disorder and target local criminals.

To achieve this the number of policing divisions will be reduced from six to three.

The proposed changes were announced by Chf Supt Tim Jackson at a police forum meeting at Congleton Town Hall.
