it's blues on Friday with the mayor

HIGH school pupils will be playing the blues at Margaret Williamson's civic dinner next Friday.

Mrs Williamson is Congleton town mayor, and her dinner dance takes place at Congleton Town Hall on Friday March 4 from 7pm.

The drinks reception will be served by Army Cadets, helped by the Air Training Corps.

Congleton Youth Orchestra members will play during the reception, and a highlight of the evening will be the Blues Fusion swing band.

The group consists of 10 pupils from Congleton High School and Eaton Bank School, who will be performing songs from the 1940s.

There will also be dancing to Sounds Easy, and the proceeds of the evening are going to Congleton youth groups.

Tickets for the dinner are available by ringing the town clerk's office on 270350 between 9am and 2pm.
