Sweeney brace secures Town win

Billinge 1 Warr Town Res 2

STRIKER Liam Sweeney banged in a brilliant brace to give Warrington Town Reserves a deserved win at Billinge.

A youthful Town side, with 16-year-old Andy Potter making an impressive debut, played the more constructive and purposeful football throughout Saturday's Mid-Cheshire Soccer League clash.

It was no surprise when Sweeney turned sharply and fired a shot past Billinge's goalkeeper after 20 minutes and the same player was on hand to secure the spoils from the penalty spot after strike partner Phil Latham was upended inside the box.
