A WINSFORD woman who mistakenly received a postcard sent from Thailand shortly before the tsunami struck is trying to find the person it was intended for.
Valerie Atkinson, 58, of Hawthorn Close, was shocked when a postcard dropped through her letterbox last week from someone on holiday in Phuket.
The postcard was addressed to Craig and Sue Hickson, of Hawthorne Grove in Wharton, but Valerie has not been able to track them down because they do not live there.
She said: "I need to find the people this card was meant for because it may mean an awful lot to them - in fact it may mean everything.
"This person may have died in the tsunami and the postcard may be his last words to a relative or friend so it is vital we find them."
The postcard was sent by a man calling himself Mr B and Valerie believes there are clues that may help to uncover the mystery.
She said: "It was sent just before Christmas and it said that it was great news Everton had beaten Liverpool 1-0.
"I assume it must be an Everton fan who sent it so that may be a help. The postcard was basically wishing people a happy Christmas and it really brings home how shocking the tsunami was.
"We don't know what has happened to him but I would really like to find out."
Valerie is more aware than most about how much the postcard could mean to someone. She said: "My nephew was working in Thailand when the tsunami struck but thankfully he was okay.
"It gives me a very strange feeling when I read this postcard because when it was written he had no idea what was about to happen."
