Town's museum to get a unique birthday present created by Ron

NANTWICH Museum is to be presented with a special commemorative medal, pictured, in recognition of its 25th birthday.

The palm-sized medal, which was created by internationally renowned artist Ron Dutton, will be handed over at a special ceremony this Saturday.

Mr Dutton, who was born and bred in Nantwich, conceived and cast the bronze sculpture, which will be placed on permanent display in the museum.

Members of the public will also be able to purchase copies of the medal in a presentation case for £25.

Curator Susan Pritchard paid tribute to Mr Dutton's continuing interest in Nantwich and the museum.

She said: "Ron's late father was the first member of the Museum Trust, so our close links with the Dutton family go back to our very beginnings.
