Residents can have their say on the future of the borough

RESIDENTS' views are being sought on the latest council planning policy, which will shape the future of Vale Royal over the next decade.

Known as the Local Plan, it identifies future building development in the borough and has been revised to take into account recent developments such as the stabilisation of the salt mines beneath Northwich town centre.

This will allow a major town regeneration to take place as part of the Northwich Vision project.

Clr Mark Stocks, lead councillor for the environment at Vale Royal Borough Council, said: "The council has carefully considered people's views in putting together further revisions to the Plan.

"We are now once again seeking opinions on these changes and are hoping that as many people as possible will play a part in influencing the policies and proposals that will shape our local environment."

As the most significant changes to the plan reflect the Northwich Vision regeneration framework, a mobile exhibition staffed by members of environmental policy services will be staged on Saturday, February 26, at Adelaide Gardens (opposite Marks & Spencer), off Leicester Street, Northwich, between 9.30am and 3pm. Staff will be available to answer questions.

The revised Local Plan will be on view on the council's website www.valeroyal.gov.uk and at local libraries, as well as at the following locations:

l The Council Offices, Wyvern House, Winsford - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

l Northwich Information Centre, Northwich - Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9.30am to 12.30pm.

l Castle Park, Frodsham - Tuesday and Thursday 9am to 1pm

All suggestions for change to the Local Plan should be made in writing to Mr J Owens, Head of Environmental Policy, Wyvern House, The Drumber, Winsford, before March 30.
