Newspaper stint has helped me see future

TAKING pictures for the Guardian has helped develop one Northwich student's plans for the future.

Martin Holland, 42, from Rudheath, has spent the past month on work experience in the paper's photographic department.

Martin is currently studying an HND in photography at Mid-Cheshire College, Hartford, and has enjoyed the challenge of setting up shots to go with stories.

He said: "I'll take a lot out of my time here and I got along really well with everyone.

"It was tough organising people for shoots as I've never taken pictures of people I don't know before."

Martin hopes to pursue a career in portrait or documentary photography.
