Flying cooks?

HALTON'S 'Flying Cooks' are tempting youngsters with some healthier options by holding taster sessions across schools in Widnes and Runcorn.

Sue Daley and Chris Atkins are the cooking duo paying flying visits to schools to encourage healthier eating with new recipes and ideas for both children and parents.

New child friendly recipes may be introduced to schools and pupils are now getting the opportunity to sample homemade beef burgers, lasagne, tune risotto, apple cake and fruit oaties as well as other tasty foods.

Mums and dads are being invited along to schools to taste the foods too and there have already been requests from parents who want to try them out at home.

Children are usually entitled to a free school meal if their parents or guardians receive Income Support, Income Based Jobseekers allowance, Child Tax Credit or support under the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.
