A TEENAGER will follow in her mother's footsteps when she becomes the next Northwich Carnival Queen.
Thirty years after Diane Goolding held the position, her daughter Laura Goolding will represent the town.
Laura, aged 14, from Hartford High School, says she is excited and happy at the prospect of being crowned as the carnival queen. She said her family was overwhelmed with pride at her achievement.
Outside of her studies at school, she enjoys entering competitions and playing the piano.
The ladies in waiting at the event will be sisters Rebecca Pugh and Samantha Pugh. Kyle Pugh will be the crown bearer and Adam Foster the sceptre bearer.
The trainbearers will be Bethany Wakefield, Verity Wright, Lauren Bennett and Ella Richardson, with the petal bearers being Georgia Gibson, Tanya Finemore and Caitlyn Curbishley.
Eddie MacPhillips and Connor Lewis will be the pageboys and Demi Pringle is the rosebud.
The dames and maidens will be Alice Dewsbury, Emily Foster, Chloe Griffiths, Holly May Rowlinson and Alice Chapman, and the princess will be Amy Heywood.
Catherine Hill, Megan Taylor, Katy Jane Preece, Chloe Gibson and Kathy Pugh will be the ladies and duchesses.
