RECORD CROWD

CASTLEFORD TIGERS had a competition record crowd of 5,768 for their first Northern Rail League Cup home match against York City Knights.

It was the biggest for a National League Cup match, other than for a final, beating the 4,445 for Leigh Centurions v Salford City Reds on 16 February 2003 when it was the Arriva Trains League Cup.
