A healthy interest

PUPILS at Middlewich Primary School have decided to go healthy by dedicating one day of the week to eating fruit.

The idea came as a result of discussions within the pupil committee and it was decided that each Friday the kitchen would only sell fruit as snacks for the children at break times.

Deputy headteacher Alison Hooper said: "It has been a huge success and the children have really got into it.

"We see healthy eating as something we should be encouraging from an early age so that it becomes part of their normal life.

"It is also great for them because they are trying certain foods that they have never tried before."
