A real charitable feat...

TOTS at a town centre nursery put their best feet forward and got messy with their paints this week to help a Warrington charity.

Toddlers at Cowboys and Angels day nursery on Legh Street took the challenge in their stride as they dipped their feet in paint and left their mark for ARC's latest project to halt the increasing number of young runaways in the town.

The 'One Step at a Time' campaign aims to raise awareness and funds for the 'Talk...Don't Walk' project, which is managed by ARC.

The campaign is encouraging everyone in the town to design and decorate a pair of footprints for a record attempt to be held on May 15 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, in a bid to highlight the dangers of young people running away from home.

The record attempt is to form the longest line of footprints and more than 10,932 need to be collected if ARC is to beat the current world record, set in November last year by the National Geographic Society.

The goal of the project is to make the footprints stretch two miles, the average distance a runaway travels before they think about turning back.
