Paul Wood introduces Warrington Wolves 2005

PACK man Paul Wood introduces Warrington Wolves' 2005 squad in a rather tongue-in-cheek style...

Brent Grose: Grosey is the thinking man's player. He sits back and listens to what people have to say before he gets in there. He has a dry sense of humour and can be very funny. Super League X should be a great campaign for him.

Henry Fa'afili: 'H' is a bit of a party animal and likes to enjoy himself. He's so laid back he reminds me of an elephant in the way that he moves slowly and plods along - not on the field though, of course, where a big season lies ahead for him.

Martin Gleeson: Not only does he try to look like Jim Morrison, he thinks he is Jim Morrison. Gleece likes his guitars and funky music. I'm glad to have him on board this season and I'm looking forward to playing in the same team as him.

Toa Kohe-Love: Toa thinks he's the best dancer of the team. If we have any functions, Toa's always on the dance floor doing his moves. He thinks he's a hot stepper, probably because he is on the pitch too.

Dean Gaskell: Deano thinks he is a WWF wrestler. When we do wrestling in training he's always taking the lads apart. He comes in with toy WWF belts on and thinks he's king of the ring. He's all set to be king of the wing too.

Lee Briers: I call him Kenny Senior because he is like Kenny Senior off Phoenix Nights, in that he is the biggest Billy Liar. Briersy's one of my closest friends at Warrington. He's always been there for me when coming through the Academy ranks. I've always been able to talk to him. He looks after the young ones and is a good skipper like that. This season is looking great for him.

Nat Wood: Nat's a bit of a Dennis the Menace. If you play a joke on him, you know for a fact he's going to get you back about 10 times worse when you've forgotten all about it. He's in good shape for the season.

Chris Leikvoll: Some call him Penny, although I don't know why. He has a presence wherever he is because he is so big. He can be laid back but you take note when he has something to say and he will have plenty to say on the pitch this year.

Jon Clarke: I think the fans have nicknamed him The Sunbed. I call him Tan 'N' Teeth because he's got the tan and the pearly teeth. He's always got his hair done and his clothes are neatly ironed. He's that sort of character and his 2005 prospects on the park are looking extremely good.

Mark Hilton: Beast, as a nickname, doesn't reflect his personality because he's very quiet, laid back and smart. He trains very hard. For matches, I think he takes out his brain and puts it in his locker because he's just 100 miles an hour on the pitch.

Logan Swann: I think Logan is going to come across as a bit of a joker in the team, as he likes a laugh, but I think he is going to be a good leader too. This is because of all his experience. He'll be good to have around for some of us younger lads.

Mike Wainwright: Wedge must sit and watch TV a lot. He comes into work reciting lines from programmes like Phoenix Nights, The Office and Max and Paddy. If you're having a laugh or argument with Wedge, he'll always have the last line. Wedge will shine on the pitch again this year.

Paul Noone: Nooney's going to be playing a big part in Warrington's season due to the fact he's got the number 13 shirt. The experience he's gained at such a young age will stand him in good stead. He's got speed, agility and the perfect skin because of all the skin products he uses.

Mark Gleeson: Everyone calls him The Creature or Precious. A big hitter in defence who's looking good for 2005. We played amateur rugby together, signed at the same time and travel together. He's a good friend.

Ben Westwood: Benny is a nice lad with a heart of gold who is big, strong and tough plus has a habit of shouting 'Hey love!' He's all set for a big year.

Paul Wood: The other boys would probably just say that I try to be funny but don't succeed. I can never complete a joke. Lee Briers would probably call me a Billy Liar because I'm always telling him stories and he never believes me.

Danny Lima: He's totally different off the pitch to the way he is on it. I don't mean this in a bad way but, at heart, he's like a big kid whereas on the pitch he's really tough and is all set for another big year. He's like a Chinese tourist in the way he takes pictures everywhere he goes.

Graham Appo: He's quite quiet. I think he's a keen fisherman and he especially likes playing golf. Hopefully we'll see him having his best season again, like in 2003. I think

he will as he seems more confident and looks sharper than last year.

Daryl Cardiss: Cardo, one of the Yorkshire boys, is probably the quietest of the bunch

Hopefully he'll have a big year this season after losing his No1 squad number. He wants to prove a point to all that he wants his jersey back.

Warren Stevens: Warren is due to make a big impact on Warrington's season in 2005. He is regularly losing things, like articles of kit, which is funny.

Simon Grix: I think Grixy's going to have a big year for Warrington. He's going to be one of the signings that people outside of Warrington are not really talking about but will turn out to be one of the best signings. He's strong and he has good hands.

Steve Pickersgill: Pickers, like Grixy, is young and coming through and if he gets his chance, and I think he will during what is a long season, he'll be another good signing from the Academy ranks. He's big and strong with England under 18s experience.

Andy Bracek: Andy reminds me of Nick Fozzard because of the way he acts and his attitude in training. He's a bit smarter in how he plays, he's tough, quick for his size and I think he will become a fans' favourite.

Phil Berry: He's laid back and I think he will be a good signing because he's quick, he's big and he's still young. He seems willing to learn and is enjoying his training with the first team. He'll do well when he gets his chance.
