Age Concern good neighbours project

Paul has worked as a volunteer counsellor for Age Concern's Positive Mental Health project for the past two years. And now has changed his job to undertake this demanding and dynamic role.

He said: "I look forward to delivering our services to the local community. We offer low level practical help and support to housebound people, who are 55 or older."

This is achieved by recruiting and training Volunteers to support and assist our clients, in their every day life. The help that we offer can be best described as what we would all do for our grand parents. Take them shopping or maybe doing a little cleaning or gardening".

It is this type of help that can make a real difference to someone's quality of life

Paul is a qualified teacher and counsellor and has been working for Warrington Borough Transport for the past eight years. He is also a lecturer at Warrington Collegiate Institute.

Paul added: "I have welcomed this change of career path, and look forward to the future with Age Concern Warrington"

This project is operated by volunteers, and is currently recruiting. If you can spare the time, and would like to make a difference to an older person's life please contact Paul on 244645.

Full training and support will be given.
