Pupils get the rocket

A RECORD-breaking rocket visited The Heath school last week.

The Nova was launched from Morecambe in 2001 by engineer Steve Bennett.

It reached a height of 5,000ft and Mr Bennett hopes it will blaze a trail for his future rockets to carry people into space with his company, Starchaser Industries.

The 11-metre high, 750kg rocket is the largest ever built in the UK and it visited The Heath after an invite by the schools science department.

Jamie Jardine, head of science, said: "We wanted to show our students that if you work hard and are determined, you can reach your goals and succeed."
