POLICE are advising motorists to be extra vigilant when leaving their vehicles unattended.
Officers have seen a recent upsurge in thefts from vehicles in Warrington, specifically around the A49 Winwick Road.
Crime Reduction Advisors are offering the following tips when leaving your vehicle unattended.
l Lock all doors, windows and sunroofs
l Do not leave any valuables in your car - the damage caused by thieves breaking into vehicles can exceed the value of the items stolen
l Always park in a well-lit and open place away from concealed areas out of public view
l Always remove the car stereo if you can, it is one of the most sought after items in the car
l Never leave lap top computers or any valuables on display or unattended in the vehicle
