Council website gets new look

CHESHIRE County Council is leading the way in electronic services with a redesign of its public website.

The redesign aims to give the county's 680,000 residents a more personalised service.

Users are directed to content depending on whether they are a visitor, resident or local business user, and can register for email alerts on specific information.

Nikki Hughes, customer service and web manager, at the council said: "Cheshire's website has always received a large number of hits but users tended to use only a limited number of services on offer.

"By redesigning the way in which content is presented and updated, citizens will enjoy a much more user-friendly experience, as well as gaining access to new resources.

"We're expecting to see a lot more traffic to the site as a result."

The site can be visited at www.cheshire.gov.uk.
