Indian day

PUPILS at Dallam Primary School had a taste of Asian culture when the school hosted an Indian workshop.

Youngsters at the school, on Boulting Avenue, learned about different forms of Indian dance and spiced up their school dinners with a taste of authentic Indian food.

Priti Mystery, who led the workshop, taught pupils the Dandya Raas Dance, also known as the stick dance.

The dance is normally performed during the nine-day Hindu festival of Navratri, which is devoted to the worship of Shakti, or The Divine Force and the supporter of the universe.
