Employers are snapping up university graduates

GRADUATES from Crewe-based Manchester Metropolitan University enjoy a near full-employment rate after completing their studies, according to latest statistics.

Figures published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) shows that 98 per cent of last year's graduates had found employment within six months of completing their courses or were continuing their studies.

The most striking results were from the Post Graduate Certificate of Education secondary route where 98.7 per cent of students were employed either full or part-time or on a freelance basis.

Only 1.3 per cent were unemployed, which is well below the national average of 6.2 per cent.

MMU's marketing manager Marion Burge said: "MMU continues to be the first choice for trainee teachers in schools in many parts of the North West. Our students are rigorously prepared for their chosen profession."

More good news from MMU came from research into its health studies graduates who boast a full-employment rate.
