Taking steps to advance their dancing

DANCERS from Biddulph High School are pictured practising a dance they choreographed in a workshop with the Richard Alston Dance Company.

Around 40 students worked closely with a professional dance tutor during two three-hour workshops.

The dance company is one of the UK's top choreographers, and tours the country providing professional advice to dance students.

The workshops were organised by Claire Pring, the school's dance teacher, in conjunction with the dance company and the Regent Theatre.

Claire said: "All the students really enjoyed themselves, and it was incredibly useful for them to further their study, particularly with exams in mind."

Pictured practising a dance they choreographed themselves are Kelly Boulton, Rachael Baker, Natalie Dalziel, and Kirstie Plimbley.
