How much will our great new leisure complex add to the traffic chaos?

REGARDING the 'Phoenix Rising' article last week. Fantastic, Great, Wonderful, Yippee, it is time we had a leisure complex such as this. Oh, did they forget, so will the traffic congestion rise.

I do believe the council has not considered what the traffic problem will be.

How do they think when planning? Does it matter where anything goes, as long as we have it.

How thoughtless and inconsiderate to local residents to allow such a complex there.

Every road near or approaching the site is a bottleneck now.

The main approach will probably be from Nantwich Road, but look at it - horrendous. It's chaos at Hungerford Road and Earle Street. Middlewich Street and Market Street has queues galore. Not to mention pollution.

Could it not have been negotiated to build it on the outskirts of town, also the new B&Q, on the thousands of unproductive farmland of Crewe & Nantwich?

I really cannot comprehend the thinking of the planners of this town, you can't get a quart into a pint pot.

Next they will be planning to put in a Cathedral. Maybe opposite the market will do. Then we can claim City status. Sounds good 'Crewe City', oops, sorry locals have I given them an idea.

Common sense. Plan any building any amount of car parking, but if it gets as busy as planned look at the extra volume of traffic, will the area take it.

It's simple! Rocket science, NO. For planners, mmmm maybe.
