More plans for Lymm site

THERE will be a magnificent seven planning applications for councillors to consider tomorrow, Wednesday, but all for the same Lymm site.

In a bizarre step in an increasingly complicated planning process, members of the development control committee will consider seven applications to build 202 homes on the field on Oughtrington Lane and Longbutt Lane.

The latest applications come despite councillors turning down similar plans just months ago.

In the new plans developers Wilson Con

nolly Homes have reduced the number of homes to be built from 214 to 202.

They also have revised the scheme so that all the buildings are two-storeys and not three-storeys high.

Fifty eight neighbours have written letters of protest while a letter from Lymm High School complains about the possible traffic impact.

A spokesman said: "The school accommodates 1900 pupils and many buses, cars and pedestrians use Longbutt Lane and Oughtrington Lane.

"Both roads are narrow and unsuitable for existing traffic volumes at critical times during the school terms.

"The development should address this major problem and fund a crossing and traffic calming measures."

The application will be discussed at Wednesday's meeting of the development control committee which meets at 6.30pm in the town hall.
