Hale Village handgun raid

A HANDGUN armed crook posed as a policeman to raid a home in Hale Village.

He was one of three men who forced their way into the victim's house last Thursday, January 13, at around 7.20pm.

He turned up carrying a clipboard and claiming to be a policeman.

But the victim was suspicious and fled.

Two other men in dark clothing and balaclavas followed the handgun-armed man into the house.

Fortunately, the victim managed to escape without injury.

The police say enquiries are still on going.

The man with the clipboard is described as aged 35 to 40, with very short, light coloured hair, and of stocky build.

He wore a bright yellow fluorescent jacket, dark trainers and dark bottoms.

The three men drove off in what was described as a dark, Volvo S80 saloon.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Tim Holden on 01233-613735 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
