Sikhs help out

MEMBERS of Warrington's sikh temple have dug deep to raise £5,000 for the disaster appeal fund.

Some of those who helped the collection were on hand this week to give the money to Christian Aid for distribution.

Amarjit Grewal, secretary of the temple, said: "It is very sad to see so many people lose their lives and homes and their loved ones, but at the same time it is heartening to see people of all the communities coming together to help them in this hour of need.

"Teachings of sikh faith urge its members to stand by the needy and be ever ready to serve humanity."
