SENSITIVE children moved by the tsunami disaster have put their thoughts into words.
Pupils at the Grange Junior School have written prayers in memory of the 150,000 victims killed by the Asian tidal wave.
Headteacher Marian Cheetham, said: "Clearnly, everyone was very shaken by the images seen on television and in newspapers.
"The prayers were just one kind of response which helped the children."
Here is a selection of the children's prayers.
Dear God,
Thank you for everyone and everything
especially life.
Please take care of the people,
especially in Asia.
They are suffering after the destructive tidal wave.
I'm sorry for the things we do wrong,
I'm sorry for the children
Those who have
No home and no parents
After the tragedy.
Please bless them and keep them
Amen
Dean Jones, aged nine.
Dear heavenly Father,
Thank you for our peaceful world,
Thank you for the stars that swirl,
Thank you for our wonderful land,
Beaches, creatures and silky sand,
Thank you for our flowers and trees,
That sways in the breeze.
Please help the people in the disastrous wave,
We hope you have the heart to save,
Help the people who stayed alive
To stay alive.
Let all people be loved,
Bring the peace of a dove,
Bless our hearts forever,
And we'll make happiness together,
Alex Cook, Emma Crowther and Jessica Hayes, all aged 10.
Dear Lord,
Please help the children
Who don't have mums and dads in their life,
Bless the adults that past away that very moment.
Thank you for the good things in life,
Like fruit and vegetables that grow,
Please help people affected by the tsunami,
Help them to grow food and find fresh water.
We realise how lucky we are,
And will do all we can to help.
Please can you be by the victim's side,
Just like my loving family and friends.
Amen
Lauren Rigby, aged 10.
Dear God,
Please help the people who have died in the tsunami,
Take care of the people who did not die,
Also, I hope they find peace.
I hope the people who died in the tsunami have found
Peace in heaven.
Jaime Hamnett, aged 10.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for all the things you have given us.
Let us help the people that haven't got those wonderful things we have.
Let us think about the people in the Asian tsunami who have lost family and friends.
Also we pray for people in Africa who have diseases,
Let's help them too.
Help us to find peace in the world,
We appreciate how fortunate we are
Please bless everyone
Amen
Rosie Gayter, aged nine.
Dear God,
Don't let me stand in darkness,
Let me stand in light.
Don't leave me alone for
I will shine like a bright
LIGHT!
The tsunami caused such pain and suffering,
They need my help and yours,
Please bless them and keep them safe,
We send them our love, our Lord.
Don't let me stand in darkness,
Let me stand in light
Don't leave me alone for
I will shine like a bright
LIGHT!
Amen
Tyler Brown, aged nine.
