BOY racers in Biddulph are being warned their mini motorbikes will be seized if they continue to rid

Police have received an increase in complaints about youths using the 'mini-motos', which can travel at up to 40mph.

Officers can issue a warning to riders under the Nuisance and Disorder Act, and the bike can be seized if the youngster re-offends.

It costs owners £130 to get their bike back.

Sgt Lindon Evans said police are concerned for the safety of the riders.

He explained: "These bikes are only suitable for use on race tracks and private land.

"They have no lights or indicators, riders often don't wear helmets, and you don't need insurance or a licence to use them.

"The bikes are a nuisance and danger to the public, and we are also concerned about riders getting injured or killed."
