POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attack in which a teenage girl was indecently assaulted in Biddulph.
The 17-year-old, who had just got off from the number 6A bus in Woodland Street, was attacked on the corner of the road's junction with Park Lane at 6.30pm on Saturday.
The teenager, from Biddulph, was returning home from Hanley at the time of the attack.
She got onto the Biddulph and Chell bus at Hanley bus station at the same time as her attacker, who sat behind her on the journey to Biddulph.
The male attacker followed the 17-year-old when she got off the bus in Woodland Street, and made verbal advances before grabbing and indecently assaulting her.
The girl was able to fight off the man and run off without suffering any injuries.
The man is described as black, five feet eight inches tall, of slim build and in his late 20s.
He had short, curly, black hair, spoke with a strong non-local accent, and was wearing dark, smart, casual clothes.
A police spokesman said: "This was a serious incident, and we are keen for anyone who may have witnessed the attack, or anyone with any information about the man, to get in touch with us."
Members of the public with information can call PC Andrew Platt at Leek Police Station on 08453 302010.
