WARRINGTON Town Reserves returned to winning ways on Saturday thanks to a crashing drive from midfielder Liam Warburton.

The goal midway through the first half settled a fiercely contested Mid-Cheshire Soccer League encounter with near neighbours Ashton Town.

Dave Berry later struck the post for Town, who controlled proceedings in the second half with Steve Cartledge, Andy Tague and Brownbill outstanding at the back, Tyrer assured in goal and Dermody, Sweeney and Willott dangerous on the counter attack.
