Junction improvements start

WORKS to improve the junction of Winwick Road and Kerfoot Street in Orford have started.

The £373,000 improvement scheme will fund better facilities for pedestrians and cyclists with upgraded crossing points and renewed signs and lighting along with other improvements.

The work is expected to take 16 weeks and will be carried out between 9.30am and 4pm.

Resurfacing work, beginning in March, will be restricted to 7pm and 5am to minimise disruption.

Kerfoot Street and Longford Street will be closed during the resurfacing work with traffic diverted via Bewsey Road, Tanners Lane, Pinners Brow, Winwick Road and vice versa for the Kerfoot Street closure and Orford Lane, Winwick Road and vice versa for the Longford Street closure.

Public transport will not be affected by the works.
