I AM writing to ask if any of your readers can help me to find current details of five people who were class-mates of mine in the 1950s.
Three years ago, through a chance meeting with one pupil and some enquiries on Friends Reunited, on the internet, I started to search for the 36 pupils, who were at Crewe County Grammar School in Ruskin Road, Crewe in the Class named 3R, when the pupils were in their third year in 1952.
Unfortunately we know that five of our class members have died, but there are now 26 of us in touch with each other, from all around the UK, as well as overseas.
We have been co-operating to find our 'missing' five pupils, so far without any success.
As we are planning to have a major re-union in 2005 we would dearly like to find these people to include them in our meeting.
I would be grateful for any information at all regarding possible workplaces, house moves, marriages etc, no matter how far back the information refers.
The names and only facts for our missing classmates that I have as yet are:
l Joan Hill - lived in the Church Lawton/Alsager area
l Silvia Harrison - lived in Wistaston Green Road, Crewe and after school worked for British Rail. Later Married.
lBrian Redfern - lived in Empress Drive, Crewe
l Barry Evans
l Ken Jones - lived in Alsager. After school went to work in Rolls-Royce. Later married and possibly lived in Sandbach.
Anyone with information can write to my address below, phone me on 01270 568876 or e-mail me on ghuntington@onetel.com.
