Shakey start costs the Egerton U8s dearly

Witton U8 4 Egerton U8 0

Egerton got off to a shaky start after the Christmas break.

Will Booth and William Abbots worked hard in defence trying to cover a lot of ground. However, Witton dominated the first-half leading by three goals to nil at the break. Egerton looked much stronger in the second-half.

Josh Wates made some excellent defensive tackles and Adam Codling made a couple of solid saves.

Charlie Sheldon put pressure on the opposition with a near miss and Paul Butler positioned himself well to receive a number of passes. Will Dunkerley and Sam Cosgrove fought hard in midfield but it was not enough to prevent Witton scoring a fourth goal.
