The Eagles battled courageously from the outset. An early lead was established when Sam Holah slotted the ball calmly past the Winnington goalkeeper following excellent link play from Jacob Potts and Angus Kitcher.
Sam Proctor was full of tricks in his attacking role and proved a real handful to the visitors.
Greg McLoughlin and Tim Sanders were forthright, committed and steadfast in defence.
Winnington regrouped at half-time. Any question over the result would have been beyond doubt had Richard Mason's ferocious, rasping drive found the back of the net rather than crashing against the upright.
Robbie Allatt turned in another bright and effective performance while goalkeeper Tom Shepherd proved to be a very safe pair of hands.
Tom's distribution of the ball was also immaculate.
Man of the match went to Sam Holah whose visionary, skilful and creative display was a joy to witness. He also scored both goals despite being substituted at half-time.
