Project work set to start

YOUNGSTERS in Moulton have been urged to pass on the message about a new area to be built just for them.

Teenagers from the village came to the January meeting of Moulton Parish Council to find out more about the redevelopment of playing fields off Main Road.

Work on the first phase of the £200,000 project, which includes creating multi-use sports facilities and shelters with seating for teenagers, is set to begin in the spring and be completed in time for the summer.

More litter bins will also be provided as part of the upgrade as well as bike racks, which youngsters expressed a need for during the consultation process for the project.

Parish clerk Elaine Beach said: "Pass the message around your peers and encourage youngsters to look after it properly to make it last for future generations."

With funding in place for the first phase of the project, the village's Children's Playing Field Trust can start applying for grants for the second and third phases, to include providing junior and toddler play equipment and general landscape improvement.
