Eight-ball is consolation

THE first eight-ball break of 2005 was mere consolation for Barn Owl B's Dave Roberts, as his side were beaten 4-3 at Lavin's Wine Bar.

At the top of Northwich and District Pool League Division One, Rudheath comfortably kept their 100 per cent record intact as they hammered lowly Coachman A 6-1.

Green Dragon A also won 6-1 against Pillar of Salt to keep in them contention for a place in the top two.

In-form Barnton BL won at neighbours Barn Owl to retain second place, while Greenbank moved off the bottom of the table after their 4-3 win over Wheatsheaf B.

In the big clash of the top two in Division Two, Gladstone club took the honours to take them three points clear of Volunteer B.
