Weather takes its toll

WINNINGTON Park RUFC's scheduled match at Fleetwood was a victim of the weather last weekend meaning the fixture has been rearranged for Saturday.

This causes problems for Park, whose squad will be tested to the full as they have a Cheshire Cup game at Burrows Hill on Sunday against Hoylake.

However the club received a boost this week when Richard Smith re-signed following a short spell at Macclesfield.

Richard, a back row forward, who was outstanding for Park in the last two seasons, made the move to Macclesfield in the summer, but due to work comittments has found it difficult to continue playing with the travelling required.

Michael Bebbington of Winnington Park RUFC said: "It's great to have him back and he will add further to the stiff competition for places in our pack."
